General Tso Tofu Recipe Baked

This general tsos tofu recipe is the response to the request of my readers who want more vegetarian dishes. Sprinkle with sesame seeds and freshly chopped green onion.

In a wok over high heat, heat the oil.

Prepare general tsos tofu sauce: Let sit for 10 minutes or until tofu has absorbed most of the liquid. Once the tofu is done, remove from the pan and transfer to a plate lined with paper towels.

Heat 3 tbs vegetable oil in pan on medium heat and add onions, ginger and garlic, cook for about two minutes (be careful not to burn garlic). Carefully wipe the skillet out (its hot), then place back on stove and add sesame oil. General tso tofu recipe for sauce.

How to make general tso tofu. Add the marinade ingredients (2 tbsp of tamari and 1 tbsp of apple cider vinegar), stir and let rest for at least 5 minutes, preferably overnight ( photo 2 ). General tso's tofu is the perfect combination of sweet, savory and comforting.

Add the white parts of the green onions and cook until fragrant, about 1 minute. Its thick and viscous and a mix of sweet and tangy. Using a slotted spoon, remove the tofu from the wok and drain on paper.

Its a perfect balance of sweet, salty, savory, and spicy. Add tofu cubes, toss well to coat. Preheat oven to 400 degrees.

Allow to heat and thicken, about 2 minutes. How to make general tso tofu. Before laying your tofu cubes out on a parchment lined cookie sheet to bake, drain the marinade and toss them with 2 tablespoons of corn starch.

The tofu soaks up the flavor like a sponge and makes it exceptionally flavorful. In a bowl, combine the rice vinegar, soy sauce, hoisin sauce, brown sugar. In a large bowl, dredge the tofu in the cornstarch.

Gently flip the bag a few times to coat tofu with the liquid. This will crisp them up even more while baking. Add the cornstarch one tablespoon at a time, mixing with the tofu to coat until all of the tofu is evenly coated.

Spread tofu on baking sheet and bake for 45 minutes, flipping halfway through. Add the baked tofu cubes. I am so happy youre here!
